The AIHM Institute  places a lot of trust & faith in the integrity & honesty of its students and on their sense of self discipline. The rules & regulations laid down commits them to abstain from any act of misconduct, unbecoming of a student of AIHM. The following points to be adhered to are listed below:

Attendance
Students should attend classes regularly in order to get full benefit from the course. However, although a minimum of 75% attendance is laid down as mandatory by the universities both in theory and practical classes separately, as also in on-the-job-training,students are sincerely advised that since these are professional / technical courses, 90% attendance should be aimed at by them, for a better learning process & therefore better opportunities in the future. It may also be noted that this is an important eligibility criteria for taking the progressive unit tests and the semester, annual and final examinations as an internal policy of the Institute, especially for placement purposes. Whereas late comers are marked absent, irregular students are liable to be disqualified, if deemed necessary, with no consequential liability on the Institute.

The Institute provides holidays for selective festivals and therefore, normally, a student does not need any additional leaves. However, in case of ill health, the student must inform the Institute on time and submit a medical certificate from a registered physician, when he / she rejoins. In the event of other acute domestic emergencies, students are required to apply for special sanctions for leave in advance through their parents / local guardians. Students who remain absent without proper sanction are not allowed to attend the classes or on-the-job training, unless the absence is regularized by submitting a proper leave application duly signed by their parents / local guardians.

Every month the attendance percentage is calculated and only students having stipulated attendance are allowed to sit for the progressive unit tests, which form a significant part of the overall internal assessment / marking of the student for the Courses as per University rules.

Discipline
Students are required to abide by the Rules & Regulations as laid down by the Institute from time to time, and also adopt a matured and professional approach towards their studies, their goals and their colleagues.

While training “on-the-job” at various establishments, the Institute expects its students to strictly follow the House Rules of the Organization concerned, including dress code, etc. To safeguard its own reputation & also to instill values, ideals, sound character and positive personal behaviour in its students, the Institute reserves the right to take disciplinary action (including expulsion from the Institute, if considered absolutely essential) against any student at any time for any reason deemed sufficient by the Directors / Management as constituting ‘misbehaviour’.

Industrial (On-the-Job) Training/ Internship
In addition to completing their theoretical & simulated practical training at the Institute, students are also required to undertake on-the-job industrial work experience at selected establishments. If the industrial training is outside Pune, students are required to make their own transport, accommodation and other miscellaneous arrangements directly and at their own costs.

The well-planned and comprehensive on-the-job industrial training / internship and work experience is essential for a well-rounded education, enabling the students to relate to their theoretical and simulated training with the live realities of operations in industry.

Students undergo their on-the-job training at the establishments approved by the Institute and requests for changes are not entertained, unless warranted in extreme situations.

Students must note that it is their academic performance, projects, discipline, attendance, temperament, attitude & overall personality that would determine the type of organisation that they would be placed in both for their on-the-job training / internship as also final job placements. Eligible students are given three interview opportunities for final job placements. Once students are selected, they forgo the remaining interviews.

Since this is an integral part of the course and subject to monitoring and evaluation, the Degree / Diploma / Certificate is not awarded if this training / internship too is not completed successfully. As such, effective & successful completion of the Industrial Training as per specifications & periods laid down by the Institute / University is most important.

Loss or Damage of Property
Students are required to comply with disciplinary rules and code of conduct of the Institute at all times, and show due care and regard for the property of the Institute and / or its associated establishments. Any student found guilty of tampering or damaging the fixtures, equipment, furniture, books or any property within the premises of the Institute, or its associate training establishments, or of their image, is likely to attract not only a recovery of the amount of damage or slander inflicted, but in extreme cases, may even lead to expulsion from the Institute if considered necessary.

The Institute will further not be responsible for any damage to, or loss of any valuables of the students, either in its own premises, or those of the associated establishments where students undergo their on-the-job training / internship, or elsewhere. All students are therefore advised to take care of all their personal belongings themselves.

Accidents / Occupational Hazards & Insurance
Although the Institute and its associated establishments strive to provide safe and clean study/training environments, neither the Institute nor the establishments imparting on-the-job training to the students, shall be responsible for any kind of accidents or occupational hazards to the students, nor entertain any claims for any such accidents or damages.

Similarly, the Institute shall not be liable for any mishaps during the course of any study tours or marketing activities, including students participation in educational fairs, road shows, etc. organized by the Institute , or its associate establishments from time to time as part of their marketing practical training. The students should take utmost care and refrain from doing things which may lead to such accidents or mishaps.

To safeguard their interests, all students must ensure that they are covered by adequate personal accident insurance. The students are required to pay the insurance premiums directly to the insurance company

Uniforms
Uniforms as prescribed by the Institute are to be worn by the students at all times, particularly during class-hours, practical sessions and any official function. The Institute provides a full set of uniforms at additional charges, as incorporated in the schedule of fees. Uniforms during training at establishments would need to be as per policies of the establishment concerned
